New server room for Down District Council regional office supports critical server load

The project

Down District Council new facility server room

The background

In partnership with Harvey Group (M&E contractors), Down District Council refurbished an existing building to create the site for the regional Council office. This refurbishment included a new server room. The Council wanted to reduce the risk of downtime, benefit from ongoing support, and ensure that timely battery conductance testing would be carried out.

The solution

Having assessed the Council’s needs and explored the best solutions for this new facility, Continu supplied and installed two Galaxy 60kVA 5000 UPSs plus 160A static transfer switch. This supports the council’s critical server load.

The results

Since the installation, Down District Council office have significantly reduced the risk to business downtime and benefit from 24/7 support through the Silver Support Plan with battery conductance testing.
